Various dates were discussed with 18th June and 23rd July the favourites.  Suggested inviting Rockingham Arms to man beer tent.  FT to look into availability of attractions for these dates.

Matters Arising

Agreed to purchase generator for £50 for trial purposes.

Treasurers Report

SC distributed Financial Reports for December, January and February.  There were no issues arising from these.

Any Other Business

RI had announced his retirement as Vicar and also from the WVCA.  It was agreed that it would be appropriate for the WVCA to make a small presentation by way of thanks for his contributions and various ideas for this were discussed.

DP would like to run a beginners art class from September.  A potential tutor for this has been identified.  It was agreed that this was a good use of WVCA facilities and that this would be supported in the same way as the existing art classes.

NC pointed out that the fund raising event for the Cavendish Centre had to be held elsewhere as our licence no longer covers us for “Race Night” events.  We need to be aware of this restriction when arranging any future events.

Review of Building Hire Charges.  It was suggested that we increase the “service charge” included in the Mechanics hire prices to cover the recent large increase in gas prices.  

Various revised charging policies were proposed but no final agreement was made on this - to be deferred to next meeting.
