We assume that the constituency name has been retained for historical reasons connected with the political activities of the Wentworth family (see History). ]]>Rotherham Council do a good job of promoting walking in the area, and the various footpaths are well signposted. Many of the footpaths were closed during the recent Foot & Mouth crisis, but they are now starting to reopen. Leaflets of local walks are available from Rotherham Central Library and copies can sometimes be found in local pubs and shops. Our map shows some of the rights of way centerd on the village.
Whatever the time of year, a walk around the Wentworth area is very rewarding.
